My name is Evan Hunter Jr., and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the State of Connecticut. I was born in raised in Waterbury, Connecticut and I am a graduate of Western Connecticut State University, and Post University.

I'm also a member of of the Delta Iota Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated! #BLUPHI

I have the most wonderful wife (Hi Andrea, I love you!) and the father of two beautiful daughters Ella Rose and Emery Jade Carol.

My Background and Approach

I am specialized in Motivational Interviewing to gauge your readiness to change, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, also known as CBT. I also have experience with Mindfulness Meditation. In addition, I am specifically licensed as an alcohol and drug counselor with years of experience within the field. And if you have found yourself dealing with anxiety or depression, I can be of service as well. With my nonjudgmental, multicultural, and positively encouraging approach, we can work together on this journey of rediscovery and recovery in spite of life’s obstacles. YOU are the center and main focus in therapy, and the collaborative approach will successfully assist you to achieve the change you are hoping for. I am also accepting new supervisees in the State of Connecticut looking to obtain licensure as an LPC or LADC.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am of the philosophy of G.O.D.S.P.E.E.D - Go Out & Deliver Some Positive Energy, Every Day. This to me means that it is important to focus on the positive things that life has to offer, and spreading it to the entire world. Growing up in the inner city of Waterbury, there have been some ups and downs in life that have encouraged me to become the beacon of light that I believed our city needed then. Additionally, through my own battles with anxiety and depression, I have learned many skills in my profession that have also become daily routines that have become helpful for my day-to-day life. I am a Pittsburgh Steelers and Texas Longhorns Football fan, and I am still open to serving anyone who does not have the same great taste in sports teams as I do. I am nonjudgmental and do not discriminate against anyone or any marginalized group; and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!
